No comments allowed anymore? Ben, listened to some of those edits...pretty cool. I don't know if I dig the extra noise you added to the Nile River Drum, but I feel like the sound is clearer compared to the original.
Result after messing around with a couple plugins. Most importantly, there's PanMan by Soundtoys, which is panning the sound on stereo in a certain way, and there is Soundtoy's Crystalizer, which is generating the most noticeable effect on the mix. I also used Kramer Master Tape by waves in an attempt to give the sound some subtle depth and warmth.
Experimenting with Soundtoys and Waves plugins on 2 separate samples plus drums I imported from Addictive Drums.
Comparison before and after. My effects processing chain as follows:
Wave's X-Click, X-Crackle, X-Noise, API-560 EQ, One Knob Phatter, One Knob Wetter & Soundtoy's Decapitator
from the crates to the files!
Just found out about this one! If true, it really is amazing!!
From Ministry of Sound founder Justin Berkmann:
"Well, there was never a quiet moment when he was around, let's face it. He was quite a character. There's no question that when he arrived in the airport with no records, it was a rather interesting to figure out what he was going to play. No, he didn't have any. He just didn't have any. He didn't own any records. He would sell them on a regular basis. Apparently friends of his would be going to car-boot [rummage] sales and find records that were his and go around and give them back to him and he would sell them again. He didn't have any particular connection or any emotional attachment to his vinyl, and to be honest, having gone through that 24 hours with him, it's understandable. He didn't really need it. He had maybe gone beyond that point where he didn't need any connection to the music, he could just create it through being Larry, I guess."
LOVE the opening, def one for the re-edit treatment
I know this mainstream stuff isn't always what you guys jive out to but this shit has an oldschool flavor that is awesome. Can't deny Andre 3000's steez
